The band Guano Apes will perform at the Tuborg Green Fest, due to take place in Bucharest during September 4 – 6, with an impressive list of over 15 Romanian and international bands, the organizers announced. Tuborg Green Fest will take place (as mentioned above) during September 4 – 6, at the Izvor Park in Bucharest, and the access to the events will be free.
Guano Apes has a discography of six albums, and has won two Golden Records and a Platinum one. The band was founded in 2004, in Gottingen, Germany, at the initiative of Henning Rumenapp, Stefan Ude and Dennis Poschwatta, and was joined in the same year by vocalist Sandra Nasic. The band debuted with the album “Proud like a God,” intensely promoted by the singles “Open Your Eyes,” “Lords of the Boards” and “Rain.”
The success of the recording brought Guano Apes a Platinum Record and propelled it among the best-rated European bands. The albums “Don’t Give Me Names,” (2000) and “Walking on a Thin Line” (2003) brought the band two more Golden Records and top positions in music charts for their cover of the famous Alphaville hit “Big in Japan,” “No Speech” and “Quietly.” In 2003, Guano Apes launched a live recording (entitled obviously “Live”) and a “Best Of” compilation entitled “Planet of the Apes” (2004), followed by a selection of demo tracks recorded during 1994 – 1995 (“The Lost (T)apes,” 2006).
